Whether they are going on a trip or their own car is in the shop, most people will need to rent a car at one point or another. As Rhode Island’s only locally-owned car and truck rental company, Christy’s Car & Truck Rental has a fully-stocked fleet of well-maintained rental vehicles at competitive prices. Let us answer some frequently asked questions about car rentals so you have the answers you need when you are ready to rent your next car.
Renters must have active insurance coverage, a physical copy of a valid driver's license, a credit or debit card, and they must be 21 years of age or older. We currently do not accept RIAIP (Rhode Island Automobile Insurance Plan) coverage, but look forward to serving these policyholders in the near future. For Rhode Island insured drivers, minimal liability coverage is required to rent a vehicle. Out-of-state renters need to carry liability and comprehensive and collision coverage to rent with us.
We require a security deposit and accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card, which must be in the renter's name. Unfortunately, we do not accept checks or cash cards. The amount of security authorization depends on the location you are renting from, and we will discuss it with you during the reservation process.
You can travel outside of New England, but please be aware of the mileage limitation on your rental agreement. If you need to travel out of state with your rental, please call to notify us ahead of time. No matter how far you travel, please return your vehicle with the same level of fuel it had when you received it.
