With a stronger surf, East Matunuck State Beach provides miles of area to explore along with a slightly sloping shoreline. This is one of the larger beaches, with 144 acres surrounding a beach pavilion. Visitors can watch the ferry heading to Block Island, as well as fishing boats gliding by.
The Charlestown Breachway is full of golden sand and a panoramic view of Block Island Sound. If you want to include fishing in your itinerary, this is considered one of the best saltwater fishing areas around.
