The quintessential New England coastal beach, Narragansett Town Beach provides the perfect setting for your sandy getaway. It's clean and easily accessible, located right in the center of town. This beach does get crowded, though!
With a stronger surf, East Matunuck State Beach provides miles of area to explore along with a slightly sloping shoreline. This is one of the larger beaches, with 144 acres surrounding a beach pavilion. Visitors can watch the ferry heading to Block Island, as well as fishing boats gliding by.
The Charlestown Breachway is full of golden sand and a panoramic view of Block Island Sound. If you want to include fishing in your itinerary, this is considered one of the best saltwater fishing areas around.
If you want to visit the state's most popular beach, be sure and push Misquamicut State Beach to the top of your list. There is over half a mile of beach front, and a beach facility that includes a playground and shade gazebos. Parking fills up fast here!
